About the National Association of Beach Hut Owners
The National Association Of Beach Hut Owners (NABHO) was originally conceived on Millennium New Years Eve. The idea was to create an organisation for people who love beach hut life. It complements and reflects the lifestyles and profiles of beach hut owners and seaside holiday makers, suggesting ways to maximise the pleasures of beach hut ownership and beach hut holiday making. Creating an ideal opportunity to give a national voice to speak out on the concerns of those involved in beach hut life. And foster a greater understanding of the unique icon that is the Great British beach hut and our wonderful coastal heritage. With owners ranging from Mr. Smith to Keith Richards, from granddad to P.D. James, the rich and famous rub shoulders with the locals in our seaside towns. It’s a classless, harmless, fun pastime with a common goal: a need for the simple beauty of nature and a magnetic love of the sea. We are, after all, an island race
Beach Huts have been a part of peoples lives for hundreds of years and
Although, over this time, there have been various local beach hut owners’ associations set up, many owners don’t live in areas where these organisations are active.
And, until now, there hasn’t been one body to co-ordinate the activities of these individual agencies nationally, or to act as an umbrella association for local councils with responsibility for beach huts to swap ideas on getting the most out of beach hut ownership.

We will be working hard to make sure that issues such as beach front security, beach cleanliness, global warming to name but a few are voiced and listened to by local and national governments.
